POW.R Knee Cold / Hot Compression Pack

An effective Temperature Compression Therapy system which consists of a gel pack that has been covered with a frost free lining to allow application directly to the skin. Contains an adjustable chamber behind each gel pack to provide deep-cold or deep-warm compression around the site of the injury.

The outer black material is a latex free type of neoprene completely covered in looped material to allow the velcro wraps to stick anywhere for your own comfort, inside the blue gel pack material feels like a heavy cotton type material that is specifically designed to be frost free and offer an ideal barrier between the gel pack and your delicate skin.

For best results freeze for 2 hours before use and then apply to injured area for 10-15 minute periods. The inflation occurs from a detachable tubing and hand bulb, so you can inflate the cuff as much as is comfortable and fully adjust through the cold compression therapy process.

How To Use
Place the cold blue cloth over your knee with your Patella (knee cap) protruding through the hole at the front, then wrap the two straps around your upper and lower leg to velcro back on itself. The cold area will keep the whole knee cool, and reduce inflammation from conditions like pulled or strained ligaments (any of the cruciate or collateral), twists, turns, tendonitis and arthritis.

Usage directions for COLD therapy: 

1. A removable gel pack (secured by Velcro) is included to the Wrap. Remove the gel pack from the Wrap.

2. In an appropriate manner store and place the removable gel pack in the freezer for a minimum of two hours. It is okay for to store the gel pack and/or wrap in freezer when not in use.

3. After the gel pack has been placed in the freezer for two or more hours the gel pack can be removed from the freezer for use. Safety first – “use caution” when handling the “cold” gel pack!

4. Using the Velcro tabs adhere the gel pack back into the Wrap in the appropriate position.

5. Protective Barrier (for tissue and skin) – Make sure that an appropriate barrier (ex. clothing, dish towel, stocking) is in place to protect the tissue/skin at the area to be treated. Please do not place the wrap/gel pack direct to the skin. 

6. Place the Wrap on the appropriate area for therapy and secure appropriately using the two large Velcro straps.

7. Apply the inside portion of the wrap (with gel packs) down to area to be treated. Wrap the large straps around the area and secure the Wrap in place with the specified and/or desired amount of compression (tightness) and adhere Velcro to the outer wrap. To protect the skin from allow no more than 15-20 minutes of therapy at a time.

8. It is important to allow a minimum of 20 minutes between each use (cold therapy) to help protect the tissue and skin at the treated area. 

Usage directions for HEAT therapy:

Method A: Microwave – Because microwave ovens vary in power, you’ll need to determine the correct heating time carefully.

1. Flatten the pack and ensure the gel is evenly distributed

2. Place the pack in the microwave for 45 seconds a t800W,increase heating time at 20 seconds intervals to reach desired temperature if needed. Time should be reduced for microwave with higher power ratings. Safety first – “use caution” when handling the “Heated” gel pack!

3. Once the gel pack has cooled enough to handle, use the Velcro tabs to secure the gel pack back into the Wrap in the appropriate position.

4. Protective Barrier (for tissue and skin) – Make sure that an appropriate barrier (ex. clothing, dish towel, stocking) is in place to protect the tissue/skin during therapy. Please do not place the wrap/gel pack direct to the skin.

5. Place the Wrap on the appropriate area for therapy and secure appropriately using the two large Velcro straps.

6. Apply the inside portion of the wrap (with gel packs) down to area to be treated. Wrap the large straps around the area and secure the Wrap in place with the specified and/or desired amount of compression (tightness) and adhere Velcro to the outer wrap.

7.  Re-use – It is important to allow a minimum of 20 minutes between each use (cold therapy) to help protect the tissue and skin at the treated area.
